To Ξύδι is a new popular fanzine from Greece,Athens (includes poems,interviews,drawings e.t.c) and we are so happy to participate in the Electric Soup no.1, a collection of many great bands of the country. At Christmas,we met again after a long time ago,the four Hot Potatoes and had two great rehearsals.We tried to manage the instrumentation of a new catchy song,called "Youth".There is also another one ready,the "Rock Runner",a stoner dynamite.Fuck,we didn't have time to organize a gig,but things will get better.
The Manager and friends joined the band once again for beers and loud music.So happy to hear that TwiN PeaGs are still alive and kicking!!!
We decided not to print/make demo copies,so you can have the whole artwork from Curious_Ape 009 with lyrics,in order to download it.

In the amazing country of Greece which has been unjustly wrecked by the bullshit can of elephant meat we call the economy; grows a potato that has the ability to intoxicate and derange. We are talking of course about the quartet going by the name of Hot Potato Syndrome.
Made up out of other Athens bands who met on stage in 2009 they started jamming together in 2011 to explore wild and uncharted territories. With the emotion and criticism of grunge; which also delivers most of the structures, the gritty and fuzzy guitars of stoner and their famous groove and a tiny pinch of the sound of the psychedelic seventies their first demo Come War Ghost lights a fire in your mind. Especially the ever changing rhythm, aggressiveness and nineties rock feeling are stunning and enchanting. Next time I’m in Athens I will definately get me a plate of Hot Potato!

"Σήμερα Κυριακή 27 Νοεμβρίου και ώρα 10μμ μέχρι να βαρεθούμε, θα πετάξουμε γιαουρτάκι στην μάπα της πόλης με την βοήθεια των Fullface, Felocity Mc, Hot potato Syndrome, Forgoten, και Μanifesto (diy metal συλλογή). Για όσους δεν κατάλαβαν θα παρουσιάσουμε ανεξάρτητες μουσικές για να γουστάρουμε"
"Μπαίνοντας στο ψητό τώρα, ο ήχος των H.P.S. δεν φαίνεται να έχει κατασταλάξει κάπου αφού φλερτάρει με τις βρόμικες κιθάρες της stoner αλλά παράλληλα έχει και κάποια grunge ηχοχρώματα, χωρίς όμως αυτό να σημαίνει ότι η δουλειά τους δεν είναι καλή, αφού και οι πιο απαιτητικοί ακροατές θα βρουν το Behind the armor of fault με το τελικό κιθαριστικό σόλο του, τουλάχιστον επαρκές.
Απλά θα πρέπει να κατασταλάξουν ή να δημιουργήσουν τον ήχο που τους ταιριάζει καλύτερα και να επενδύσουν τις συνθέσεις τους πάνω σε αυτόν. Η ηχογράφηση χωρίς να είναι προβληματική ,δεν είναι και η καλύτερη, αλλά από την στιγμή που δεν σκοπεύουν να ζήσουν από αυτό, δεν νομίζω ότι υπάρχουν περιθώρια κατάκρισης. Συνολικά είναι ένα ελπιδοφόρο σχήμα που ελπίζω και πιστεύω πως με την επόμενη τους δουλειά θα μας εκπλήξουν ευχάριστα."

Εν μέσω συμπαντικών διαστάσεων, τέσσερις μουσικοί -μέλη
τριών διαφορετικών μουσικών σχημάτων- συναντήθηκαν επί σκηνής σε μια επετειακή πρωταπριλιάτικη συναυλία το 2009. Συνδετικός κρίκος όλων,ο “υπoγαλαξιακός” κιθαρίστας που το πνεύμα του εκείνη την περίοδο στοίχειωνε ταυτόχρονα και τις τρεις μπάντες.
Μετά από δυο χρόνια, όπου μεσολαβούν αρκετές ποδηλατοπορείες,μαραθωνοδρομίες,καλαθοσφαιρικές αναμετρήσεις και οινοποσίες μεταξύ των τεσσάρων, σχηματίζονται οι H.π.S, κοινώς “Hot Potato Syndrome”.
Σε αντίθεση με το όνομα, που προσκρούει σε μια κουλτούρα ανευθυνότητας και νωχελικότητας, οι Η.π.S έχουν έντονες διαθέσεις αυτοσαρκασμού, κοινωνικοπολιτικές ανησυχίες και ποιητική στιχομυθία που επικεντρώνεται στην εσωτερική αναζήτηση. Το ύφος της μουσικής του συγκροτήματος ακροβατεί ανάμεσα στις ψυχεδελικές ηχητικές πρωτοπορίες της δεκαετίας του 70 και τον εναλλακτικό μουσικό πλουραλισμό που ανέδειξε η δεκαετία του 90, ακολουθώντας τα μονοπάτια έκφρασης των Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, MC5, Kyuss, R.A.T.M, Pearl Jam, Faith no More κ.α.
Το πρώτο μας ντέμο με το όνομα Come War Ghost είναι γεγονός.Περιέχει τρία κομμάτια με ηχογραφήσεις που έγιναν αρχές καλοκαιριού του 2011,σε μια από τις μικρές σε διάρκεια,αλλά συνάμα δημιουργικές, συναντήσεις των τεσσάρων μας.
Ο σχεδιασμός του εξωφύλλου έγινε εξ' ολοκλήρου στο χέρι από τον Curious_Ape009 και η μίξη των κομματιών από το Μάρκο (Wud).
Το ντέμο μπορεί κανείς να το κατεβάσει ελεύθεραεδώ,δεν πουλιέται και δε δημιουργήθηκε για να πουληθεί. Eυχαριστούμε πολύ τις οικογένειες και τους φίλους που μας στηρίζουν σε κάθε μας βήμα.

Friday night the mastering was done!So glad,finally demo finished.Xristod. once again gave unique performance of his medicine skills and knowledge and surfing on the internet,writing always on doctors forums.
We spent the rest of the night on a local notorious bar/drinking beers,koniak and listening for the first time our demo LOUD!
David received a phone call from the dudes,far away from us,talking about the songs and the goals of the band for the future!

Lyrics from Come War Ghost demo album 2011.Inspired by the book "Regards from Serbia " of the Serbian cartoonist Aleksandar Zograf.As the NATO bombs fell on his hometown,he used his diary comics and e-mail to reach out to the world and offer a glimpse at the effects of the attacks.
